Por vezes, a ação não está acontecendo no momento da fala.
1) I am reading a really good book at the moment.
2) Judy wants to work in Australia, so she's learning English.
Você pode usar o present continuous com TODAY / THIS WEEK / THIS YEAR. (períodos em torno de agora)
Exemplo: You are working hard today.
