Essa conjunção tem como objetivo ligar elementos que possuem a mesma função gramatical. Abaixo os exemplos.

Essa conjunção liga duas palavras ou orações que possuem a mesma estrutura gramatical. Geralmente essa conjunção fica entre as palavras ou orações, ás vezes necessitando do uso de uma vírgula antes dela.

Subordinating conjunctions
Essa conjunção é diferente da coordinating conjunction, sua função não é para conectar ideias independentes como iguais, mas sim, para mostrar uma relação entre duas ideias em que uma delas é uma cláusula dependente ou subordinado. Necessitando de uma virgula entre elas. Uma oração dependente e uma oração independente.

- My sister is married and (she) lives in England.
- I like him, but I don't like her.
- We didn't study, so we didn't pass.
- He could go to the concert or stay in.

- It's a small car, yet it is surprisingly spacious.
- I listened to your problems, for you explain what happened.
Examples Subordinating Conjunctions
- As you know he lives in Brazil.
- The match ended before I got the time.
- I went home after the concert finished.
- Although it was snowing, we went out.
- If you leave me now, you’ll take away the biggest part of me.
- Whenever you call, I'll always remember the part of you so kind.
- Because I worked fast, Ifinished early.
- Do I have to wait until tomorrow?
- This is where I live.
- Let's have dinner out, unless you're too tired.
Examples Correlative Conjunctions
- Susana is both intelligent and pretty.
- Whether you stay or go is your decision.
- I neither smoke nor drink.
- We can go either by car or by bus.
